About Claire - Pilates Instructor in Brighton

Hi, I'm Claire, a qualified Level 3 Mat Pilates instructor based in Brighton with over 20 years of practice.

My Pilates journey began as rehab after injuring my back moving a critically unwell patient. What started as recovery became a passion. It helped me move better, feel more in tune with my body, and ultimately become pain-free, building me back up stronger and more confident.

I've been lucky enough to travel and live in many countries, and Pilates has been the one constant. From practising on a dusty veranda in Kenya with locals to qualifying in 2021 under the expert guidance of the wonderful Jo Cobb at JPilates, it's always been with me.

I combine Pilates with my nursing career, bringing the same passion for problem-solving and caring for people to both roles. My medical and A&E background helps me guide you to move more effectively, prevent injury and recover from existing ones.

  • "I love Claire's classes. She gets things burning, which I like and haven't previously found with Pilates."

    ~ Alison

  • "Since starting the weekly Pilates class my back pain has gone, I feel amazing. I love how each class focuses on a different body part and the mix of flexibility and strength."

    ~ Jennifer

  • “Claire’s Pilates classes are well prepared, rehearsed and never repetitive. There are often new exercises and different props which make the classes interesting, challenging and fun, also for those who have been doing Pilates for a long time. Not only is Claire an excellent teacher, her sunny disposition and welcoming demeanour turn her classes into an uplifting and enjoyable experience. I also appreciate her professional nursing background and find it reassuring.“
